A New Perspective on Wounds

Wounded Madonna

The truth about wounds is that it’s all a matter of perception. ‘Wound’ is a loaded word. With the shift in consciousness that we are all making at this time, old concepts like these are rapidly revealing how limiting they have been. What if we had a new perspective on ‘wounds’? What if we changed our old definition from ‘damaged place within me’ to ‘experiences that have shaped, challenged and grown me’? How would that change our lives?

The old perspective

When we view our life’s experiences through the mind, we inevitably parcel them into good or bad. Those that feel painful, unfinished, or carry a charge, are placed in the “bad” pile. The impact of these challenges (our parent’s divorce, abuse, loss, trauma or abandonment for example) we call our wounds. Because we recognise how alive they are in us, we define ourselves as damaged. That definition becomes part of our story, a narrow timeline that we revisit and reinforce when telling friends, lovers, and even Life itself, who we “think” we are. We carry that sense of loss, pain, and damage around as an integral part of our sense of self. We then create Life from that place, not as a free, whole and blessed beings, but as a wounded soldiers surviving the experience of Life.

As we transition into new being, the mind, once the centre point of our being, starts to take a back seat. A new way of relating to our experiences emerges. A new sense of self reveals itself bit by bit.

Viewing our experiences through the heart

The heart is the center of the emerging human, the one we are all growing into, and it offers a new perspective on what we have called our wounds. We are the crossover generation, people born as caterpillar and making that profound transition into butterfly. From this new point of perception there is no good or bad, right or wrong. There simply exist the facts of your experience. All is welcome because it is all part of you, and you are a perfect expression of your consciousness. The heart holds an awareness of our wholeness, and the meaning and purpose behind each of our life’s experiences.  From this perspective, movement can happen, and Life can transform the old fixed structures we once held in place.

Mining your gold

Once we welcome all of our parts we can recognise ourselves as whole. Then every challenge can reveal its gold, its lesson, its learning, and all the growth it brings. While we still reject parts of ourselves, we carry around these stories like a ball and chain. They limit our freedom and stop our flight. Once you welcome them, their deeper purpose reveals itself, allowing you to become freer, richer and more integrated.

Rewriting your story

What would your story be if you truly understood the meaning and purpose of every challenge you have ever faced? Can you step back and see how courageous you have been in choosing these experiences? Can you imagine how powerful you would feel if you could own each and every “wound’ and saw it as an oppotunity for growth? Can you feel how free you would be if your heart stopped being hurt and instead felt the depth of your experience and it’s natural ability to open to love even more.

You are free

We are all in this process right now. It means letting go of our old mind centred sense of self and embracing the new heart centred one. This can be a tender process, like catterpillar’s body deconstructing itself to reconfigure as butterfly. It can be scary and disorienting and require the letting go of many things that no longer serve the new you that is being born. Most of all, it means letting go of old parts of you that shaped your old identity. This includes dropping the old definition of your life’s experiences. When this happens there is gratitude and acceptance for all that you are. This means trusting the innate intelligence of life.

What people say

‘‘Amazing workshop! Metamorphic is such a powerful tool for personal transformation, I am so glad to have discovered it. Thank you Dominique for being such an inspirational teacher!’’  Erica Albini (more testimonials here…)

Much love, Dominique

In 2004, I began training in Metamorphic Technique with it's founder, Gaston Saint-Pierre. I became a practitioner, then a teacher in 2006, which led me to run workshops all around the world. I then created Sacred Life Alchemy, the Co-Create with the Field Manifesting Process, and Heart Listening, three profound healing systems to transform your reality into more of what you want. In 2017, I renamed my  teaching Metamorphic Touch to reflect the new insights and perspectives I bring to this approach. Metamorphic Touch is a powerful healing modality to transform your life.
