A few years ago I was hired to give weekly Metamorphic Touch sessions to a group of autistic adults who lived in a home. From the very start about half the group decided that they preferred something more physical like massage or reflexology. However a core group of about 5 loved this gentle practice.
Metamorphic Technique & autistic adults
The first time I met Stephen he was poorly dressed and would not make eye contact. He loved having his feet touched and chatted away during his sessions. Over the nine months that I worked with him, he went through an incredible renewal. One day he arrived in pressed khaki shorts and a crisp white shirt. He reminded me of a Calvin Klein model. He started a computer course at university and got a job at a local charity shop. He was always put in charge of the till and left to manage the clients while other volonteers sorted stock in the back. He proudly told me of his award for best volonteer of the year and then went on to train in catering. After nine months of weekly sessons he left the home and moved into more independent accomodation.
Remembering the first day of life
An autistic woman from the home came for her first session. The minute I placed my hands on her prenatal line, the part of the foot that corresponds to our time in the womb, she said “that reminds me of my first day in the incubator with the twins. What do you mean?” I asked. “There were three of us, but the twins died on the third day.” I was deeply touched, and amazed that a light touch on points that correspond to our blueprint can evoke such profound remembrance.
Metamorphic Touch & Down’s Syndrome
In the 1950’s, Robert St.John whose early work Metamorphosis was the precurser for the Metamorphic Technique and Metamorphic Touch, worked in a home for austistic & Down’s children. Word spread about his new system and a mother came to see him. She had just given birth to a six week old girl with Down’s Syndrome and wondered if his work might be helpful. He showed her how to give the child a session, suggesting that the father might stroke the child’s feet daily while she was being fed. He also asked the woman to come and have a session with him once a week, along with the child. The mother did this religiously for a year. During this time the girl’s eyes came closer together, and a lump on her neck dissapeared. She went on to mainstream school, university, and eventually left England to marry in America.
Parent and child are connected
St John saw that a childs pattern of autism, Down’s Syndrome, or any other pattern for that matter, is not entirely their own affair. On a subtle level the child expresses for other members of the family. A few years ago I treated a mother and her 8 year old daughter. Since birth the girl had woken up hungry every night. As I worked on her she suddenly blurted out ‘Mum, I need to eat because you don’t eat enough”. I looked over at her mother”s tiny frame and suddenly there was clarity around the behaviour which mother felt had begun in the womb when her weight almost doubled.
When working on a child, it’s important to work on a parent as well.
Children transform quickly
I gave a workshop to a couple whose 8 year old refused to speak. Although there was nothing physically wrong with her voice her communication was entirely limited to the words yes and no. After learning the technique they gave her a ten minute session as they put her to bed. The next night they did it again. On the third day she was full of words full of thoughts and observations. Her parents were overjoyed. The mother also reported that her own longstanding neck pain had dissapeared. Her fear of taking the children out in public places had also resolved itself. Once a parent transforms, the child’s patterns can resolve quickly.
Much love, Dominique
In 2004, I began training in Metamorphic Technique with it's founder, Gaston Saint-Pierre. I became a practitioner, then a teacher in 2006, which led me to run workshops all around the world. I then created Sacred Life Alchemy, the Co-Create with the Field Manifesting Process, and Heart Listening, three profound healing systems to transform your reality into more of what you want. In 2017, I renamed my teaching Metamorphic Touch to reflect the new insights and perspectives I bring to this approach. Metamorphic Touch is a powerful healing modality to transform your life.
